The world we live in doesn’t always support you in being the fullest version of yourself. The impacts of trauma, oppression and toxic stress take their toll on you, your relationships, and your community. It makes sense that you’re feeling disconnected from what you care about and your sense of power and agency in the world. Systems of domination rely on you being disconnected from your body, from what you care about, and from others, including those you love.

While the world we live in has become more accepting of LGBTQ+ folks, there is still a lot of discrimination and bullying targeted towards this community. These negative behaviors, often experienced when we were young, can continue to trigger anxiety and depression. If you’re experiencing anxiety or depression based on your identity. If you’re finding it difficult to love yourself or accept who you are, our therapists are here to help you.

Brian Kimmel Guidance Center is here to help you transition and offers support as therapists offering gender-affirming care. Many of our clients have experienced transitioning, be-it gender-affirming medical procedures, hormone replacement therapy, voice coaching, body-mind awareness and movement, and inclusive relationships. We know first hand how challenging it can be to live in the world with diagnosed or undiagnosed gender dysphoria, and the stigma that society places on those marginalized because of gender identity and sex assignment. Whether you are gender non-binary, expansive, transgender FTM or MTF, intersex, genderqueer, or questioning, our hope is that you feel safe-enough to be you. That’s our number one goal.
